desertclimber wrote:reading all the postings i wonder what kind of shape your in. hiking or running the sand to summit route is challenging, yet fun. wondering why you people rely on the tram so much. i've done this route hundreds of times and not once used the tram or their facilities. this c2c2c you speak of, are you starting down in indian wells where sea level is, or is it just a play on words? the cross country routes that've been posted have been done many times.....some don't need to boast of the ego's exploits. san j is alot of fun whether it be via the north face, ridge routes, or simply from any of the westside trailheads. have any of you done it from hwy 74 to the i-10...in a day???

Its nice to know that even great forums have bad trolls.

But along the lines of the C2C2C, I am sure liking reading about it. As sombody that has not even yet done skyline the thought of C2C2C is staggering.

I look foward to reading all the trip reports next week.

Thanks
Also I see that a permit is required for the top of the mountain that you can get at the ranger station. Are there any restrictions with parking at the museum?

I have 4 total going up on the 24th, meeting 3-4 more at the station on top if you are intrested. We are leaving at 4. Just a CTC hike and down the tram.

Desertclimber, Two of us are starting at the West end of the Salton sea and traversing the Coachella Valley, and then ... going up Snowcreek, over the peak, and down...but just to Idylwild. We are looking for two more people to join in this 30 hour madness.... would you be one of them ? You sound like the guy we have been looking for !! PLMK -steve

...oh. and by the way, most of these people are fat and out of shape ( I know many of them) they park right by the entrance when they go to the store, and are all really lazy people who just THINK they're really tough. They carry potato chips on their backs and beg for cookies when they're in the middle of nowhere...and they ALL hate the cement switchbacks...

...since you were wondering.
