Fern kept me in hysterics the day I climbed Ontario Peak with him and Steve last winter and climbed many a tree, in his crampons, but by far my favorite FERN (Fern Exhibiting Radical Nonsense) was the Helmet Glissade...




p.s. HJ, if you can come up with a better acronym for FERN, it's all yours. that N was a doozey.

I've always thought "Fern" was a strange nickname for Fernando. I found some other options:

Ferno, (like inferno!), F Man, MegaFern, Flying F, Presidente eFe, , Nando, or simply Do (long o sound). Of course, saving the best for last, how about FERI? (At least that would explain the long-standing high heels controversy). What say you, Fernando? I know you don't usually post, but you can send word through Steve if you like any of those.
