Last week when i was up the lower Skyline i noticed a couple of spots where the catclaw was blocking the trail. Now i like a somewhat overgrown trail as much as anyone but catclaw draws blood. One spot in particular around the 2300' level you had to step off the trail to get around the thorns. So this morning i ran up with my (non Florian® brand) clippers and work gloves to do a little bit of pruning. Imagine my surprise when i arrived at the target shrub to find someone had already trimmed it neatly back from the trail! I laughed out loud!! Who are you mystery trail-maintainer person? It's good to know there are others that have a special fondness for taking care of the Skyline. Note that i was ONLY going to trim catclaw and then just enough to make the trail passable. No other friendly shrubs were touched.
I also put up new tramway closure notices showing the extended 10/4 date. Photo here ► http://www.flickr.com/photos/fboyd/5018450074/sizes/l/
And the rescue box at 2500' appears to be in good shape with the zip tie seal still in place.
