Longs Peak - Wow, that was tough!

Southern California and far-away places. Hiking, wildlife, cycling etc.

Hi Whitneyfan,
I wondered that same thing about the route in that second picture. "Why can't we just go up there?" I suspect that it's steeper than it looks but I'm just guessing. Heck, I barely made it up the Keyhole route!

Hi Steve,
Aw, thanks, that's really nice of you. You made my day! I'll definitely post some more as we get into October and I work out my plans...And yeah, the skies in Colorado are really nice. Not sure if it's really bluer here or not but we get these amazing clouds and thunderheads - Nice!

If I'm understanding what I'm looking at, I think that IS in fact a route. I believe it's a little tougher than the standard Keyhole route.

Below, I've posted a map showing some of the standard routes. The loft route is I believe the shortest.

Wow! I like hiking as much as the next guy/gal, but that seems a little rough for me. LOL. I guess I'm a bit of a wuss because I'm coming from upstate NY where it's more woodsy and not quite that mountainous. I commend you for completing your journey. Gorgeous pictures!
Every moment is an experience.
