Is that the huge rock easily visible from PS about a mile + so of the tram?

Whatcha Doin' on Labor Day?

Postby neverwashasbeen » Sat Sep 04, 2010 8:13 pm

@ Bluerail, they tell me I'm the only one hanging out at that location recently.

@ recordalley, I'm not too sure of the distance, but here's a link to a picture:

I did it once 2 years ago. If you did a practice run then that will help a lot... it was hard to tell exactly when I was getting close to the top (is it just above, or does it keep rounding out) and so I probably waited too long for my final push. but that probably didn't affect time that much.

I might have seen you last weekend, I was up there on Saturday at 9am and headed down the backbone (shorts & white tank top).

if anyone wants to meet up before/after the race, i'll be wearing navy blue shorts and royal blue tank top

Howdy Jim,

Having the opportunity to see you is reason enough to drive out to Palm Springs 8) I did the South Fork lolipop loop yesterday to escape the Riverside furnace (I know that 107 is cool for you desert rats but its hot for the polar bear). In case I don't make it, have a wonderful day in the wilderness.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

Ze- Its very likely we crossed trails at the summit. We had very little clothing and the wind was pounding so we didn't linger very long up there. We ran up the race route and then descended via the hut trail. I'll look for you tomorrow morning. I'll be wearing a white shirt and navy shorts that are shorter than most non-runners would probably like.

Watcha doing Labor Day

Postby Cy Kaicener » Mon Sep 06, 2010 12:10 pm

It was great seeing Ze, Stan, Steve and Fern at the Chair Lift parking lot.
Ze was first to appear on the road at 7700 feet with Zip close on his heels.
Got a high five from Stan. :)
Never seen so many people there before.

Hey Cy! It was good seeing you! I seem to have lost some time on Ze as we went - that young punk! Steve disappeared, but I saw Fern and Ze at the top, along with Mike, who I met for the first time. All in all, a really fun day with great people. And thanks for the high 5 along the way! I needed some energy at that point.
