Okay, Pi, you have definitely achieved "Mad Pi Man" status. Those are some wacky videos, plus the near death experience where you got so close to the mountain lions that you politely had to ask one to regurgitate your liver...so you up to an an adventure, maybe a few hours one autumn morning, up your favorite approach? I'm in if you'd like company - this madness is right down my alley. Say Sept or Oct once it cools down a bit?

I practically hear that one mountain lion thinking while he's looking at you: "mmm, I just love meat pi".

Wow! Been absent from the board awhile, can't believe I missed this thread! Those cats looked like they meant business. Norma, not so sure the traditional wisdom applies when there is a pack of 3! Always wanted to see a mountain lion up close, but 3 of them, and pursuing me rather than running away as I would have expected, would freak me out a bit too. Good case for packing some iron out there.

Norris, there's no good wisdom when you have more than one cat. when i played with my friend's African Lions back in the 70's as one would walk up to me i would face it and the other would slyly and briskly try and walk around and jump me from behind. this they did in play since they were raised by humans, but it's how they get their prey in the wild. it was never much fun for me being with two at a time. i always lost. i never got as close to these two brothers as i did to the Lions they raised as an only cub.

I am not an expert, but I was able to learn a bit about big cats back then. the most significant thing i learned was that big cats should NOT be raised as pets. it's just not fair and most cute cubs that are somehow now illegally (back then it was legal) obtained eventually finish out their lives in a preserve like Shambala. http://www.shambala.org/

Here's me and Samson (not quite a year old) wrestling in my friend's backyard, circa 1975.

Wow Norma! Pretty amazing. That definitely establishes your credentials concerning big cats!

No wonder you are so fleet of foot on the mountain tops -- you were raised by lions! At least they had the decency to give you a pair of flip flops.
