Summertime idiots are not limited to the Skyline Trail

An article from the Eastern Sierra News. Midway through the article it describes a truly special sort of idiot who thought it would be a good idea to attempt a solo hike from Badwater to the Mahogany Flat campground in the middle of July. That would be about an 8,000' climb with no trail and a 16 mile straight line distance from Badwater. Oh, he did bring a whole gallon of water along. This makes the folks that do Skyline in the Summer seem downright sane.

Definitely. Also that I have a cell phone and an ear bud. But, then again, I am not complaining about myself. I can quit any time. Honest! It's all those other folks -- the ones walking (and driving) down the street, talking to themselves. They're the ones whose brains have rotted already.
