Seven Pines access

Postby nobodyhikesinla » Mon Jul 19, 2010 10:31 am

Hello,

I am planning on doing San Jacinto this Thursday, via the Seven Pines trail to Deer Springs. I am wondering (1) if there is any snow on the mountain still on this side, and (2) how much dirt road travel is involved from the campground to the trailhead, and if a high clearance vehicle is necessary. Thank you.

Shouldn't be much snow. Patches, but nothing serious. It's been so hot the last few days, it may be gone by the time you get there.

The trailhead does involve some dirt road driving. I haven't been out there recently. I'd call the ranger station (State Park) in Idyllwild and ask about road conditions.
