San Jacinto via Marion Mtn Trail

Postby MWD » Wed Jul 14, 2010 8:54 am

A group and I are headed up Marion Mtn trail Saturday AM for an overnight at Little Round Valley. I was up Martion Mtn trail in late May and there was plenty of water for fill-ups due to the melting snow.

Does anyone know whether water is still available along the trail or, alternatively, at Little Round Valley?

Thanks,
~MWD

The streams are flowing well along the trail and through Little Round Valley. Have fun!

A few hundred yards southwest of the outhouse there is a small hill with a great campsite on top, and the stream is right there for pleanty of cold refreshing water.

Thanks for the quick replies. Can't wait to get out of the office and in the wilderness.

Just to report back, there was plenty of water along the Marion Mtn trail. Every member of our group reached the summit in about 5 hours. It was the first time up for each of us. We already really enjoyed the trail, which is protected almost all morning from the sun. What a view! Can't wait to go back...maybe via Fuller Ridge next time.
