I am new to this forum, but not new to hiking. I have hiked all over SD County, and am ready to exand into the Idyllwild area and take on some larger, more intense hikes.
My first hike planned is this Saturday; I'll be starting out at Humber Park with a group of 4 (plus one dog) and we'll go up the Devils Slide Trail to Tahquitz Peak. I haven't decided how we'll get back down, does anyone have suggestions on if the out and back is the best, or if cutting through Tahquitz Valley offers better views/scenery, or what about taking the South Ridge Trail back to Humber Park via Ernie Maxwell? Is there still snow on Tahquitz Peak?
If there is anyone interested in meeting up, I have one empty space on my permit for 5...
Thanks for any and all info and help
