Water Conditions In SJ Wilderness

Postby TimM » Mon May 28, 2007 9:14 pm

Does anyone know what water conditions are like in the San Jacinto Wilderness? I'm camping overnight at Round Valley this weekend and would like to know if there is water there. I also would like to know if there is any water on or near the trail from Little Round Valley to Strawberry Junction.

drying up

Hi,
I was there saturday the 26th and there is water at round valley, but not a lot. As far as strawberry junction I"m not sure. There was a small small trickle in areas of Tamarack if you know where to look, but otherwise SJ is pretty dry. Remember to take water purification equipment.

A friend told me on May 8 re: Strawberry Cienaga:

first of two flowing approx 0.5 L/min, pumpable or scoopable at trail

(I was surprised he found it flowing that fast.)
