It's hard to say on times. Some take 5 hours, some take 10, some take 12.
And the "5,000 footer" you mentioned, do you mean that you climbed a 5000' peak or do you mean you went on a climb that gained 5000' over the course of the climb? If all you did was to climb a peak that is 5,000' in elevation, not so good. If you went on a climb where you gained 5,000', that's pretty good, but keep in mind that a full C2C is over 10,000' of gain. Even if you just go up to the tram, it's over 8,000' of gain. Keep in mind also that gain on one hike doesn't always compare to gain on another. How steep was your 5000' climb? Over how many miles did you gain the 5000'? C2C is really really really steep.
Keep in mind that C2C is not really a trail anymore. It hasn't been maintained since the 1930's. There are a lot of false tracks and spots where the trail is not clear. Be prepared to spend some time on route finding. Carry a topo map (and compass) and know how to use it.
Also C2C is very exposed. The sun can be relentless. You'll need far more water than you would on other trips. Six liters is not uncommon. Four liters per person might get you by if you start early and keep a very fast pace. Personally, I would never risk it by going with such little water. Bring electrolyte mix (Gatorade, Cytomax, Hydralyte, etc) or electrolyte drinks.
Keep your eye on the weather. If the predicted high in Palm Springs is over something like 95, cancel. People have died on the route due to heat exhaustion. A 4:00 A.M. start time is pretty normal for this time of year, many start earlier.
Hope that helps,
