Full Moon Romp

General Palm Springs area.

Skunk,

Your "Full Moon Romp" on May 27 may have new life! I found a much better website (www.timeanddate.com) which indicates that the moon actually rises that night at 8:10 PM and sets at 6:06 AM. The 4PM time I found on another site is the actual time that the moon is completely full (who cares but astronomer nerds)! So you should be in moonlight until the predawn sunlight starts to help about 5AM. So go for it! And btw, your best friend junior high teacher does work hard and deserves his 2 1/2 months off (without pay)!!

Hikoholic,

Nice catch my friend. Do you want to come down from the OC in two weeks and do this? Cy, Florian, Steve, Tina, Ellen, Fern, Ze, Sally, Norma or Marmot, would you want to do this? We could do the march or die from the museum at midnight. As Cy says, reaching flatrock at sunrise has something to be said for it. If our testostrone (or estrogen) levels are really up, we could break out the ice axes and head for the peak. Lots of water, food/gorp and attitude are probably required. If anyone does go, I think a pagan breakfast and Ze's meeting of the minds at Grubbs notch just might be in order.

Sincerely and with best regards

Skunk

Its been ages since we have had a get together. :) Grubbs Notch sounds like a great place to share our grub and goodies.
Everyone hikes at their own speed. The gazelles and roadrunners will not want to hike with the tortoises and will not want to get up that early.

Hi Skunk,
If I can get the 27th off, consider me "in." After a winter of not-so-challenging hikes I am probably in the tortoise catagory, but I'm sure I'm up to it. My "attitude" is in the right place.

The hike sounds good skunk,, but I think you might end up regretting this :

Were moving to Palm Springs next month and I can walk to the museum from were we'll live.

You are most likely going to have too many trail bums wanting your phone # and calling you from the tram to get a ride back to the museum.
