Andy..you can find that exact one at the entrance to the class 3 bypass on sc.

Scott..it's gotten to where I don't know if I'd feel right out there without Fernando, so it would have to be one of the other three...most likely the thick brush and snake one.

yep, absolutely the snake one.

Have fun up there, Norma. A couple of buds and I hiked up to Trail Camp today. We got a late-ish start (9AM) since we had to wait for the VC to open for a permit. If you're doing the Main Trail, expect snow beginning below Lone Pine Lake, and increasing rapidly thereafter. Because of the deep snow (well-consolidated, no snowshoes necessary) all the usual shortcuts were available. Carried crampons but didn't use them - probably would have had I been solo as it was bit dicey in a few spots - but due to the late start the snow was soft enough to kick steps were necessary.

It's very fast/direct travel with the abundance of snow. The usual rock/scree walls at Trail Camp are buried - is mostly a large snowfield, and the little pond is still frozen. Expect to melt snow.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info Kevin! Glad you had a nice hike.

It will be an easy trip. Fri hike to trail camp, Sat summit, Sun hike out and celebrate with a portal burger. It's nice not to push it too hard sometimes. Plus the weather should be beautiful.
