There's report of a fire on San Jacinto near Snow Creek Road.

Anyone see anything?

training day

One SC accent training day of RMRU spring '79 A youthful member of the team built a fire from gathered wood. Within 5 min there were flames going sideways 10 feet.
The more the gray. The more ya' pay.

I was up the PCT this morning from Snow Creek at 7:30am. Lots of CDF and FS trucks and personnel at the drinking fountain. I was told there is a 2-3 acre burn area about 4 miles from the fountain, apparently accidentally started by thru-hikers cooking. One crew hiked up last night and I followed two more this morning. Saw a airtanker circling for a good hour and a helicopter surveying. Said they would close north-bound PCT traffic for at least today.

Wonder what the story is there? Wood fire? Alcohol stove?
