Marijuana & Snow Creek

General Palm Springs area.

well it wasnt freight train loud but a good rumbling roar just the same. I only have clips of it because I was a moron and thought my camera was filming, and only got the film between segments. short snippitts..but they show the intensity. Fern however, I believe, got 4:48 of filming on it. Have to talk to him in awhile to find out. We are bothe pretty hammered today and I imagine that, like me, he is eating , sleeping and not doing much today. We were in butt deep snow for the final 1500' to the summit exit yesterday, and it took so much energy to make that last pitch. The conditions were bad on the whole thing and we were already maxed out. we topped out at sunset, made our way back in the dark and caught the last car down. will try to get the videos on in a while.

pm me and lmk if your on fb

Wow! I'd love to see that video! I'm glad you weren't in the way - it doesn't seem like the best place for quick maneuvering if you had to make a run for it. Still, I hear you're both pretty quick at slithering away when a threat approaches suddenly!

Hey, does anybody do the Snow Creek direct route in the summer when there's no snow?

Oops. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. So, Perry, if it's legalized, do you think people will start little patches of it all over the place so they have convenient access wherever they go?

Most people don't like the thought of the smoke ruining their lungs...I'd think the bigtime manufacturers could make a great profit with exotic drinks containing THC...though I don't know if such use would be included in the legalization process.

zippetydude, take a look at this TR from a September climb. Contrary to the negative story's I've always heard, this sounds kind of tempting...

I could see a few hikers and climbers (I won't name any names) tossing seeds here and there with little maintenance, but they wouldn't haul bags of fertilizer in and take a shit in the creek. Generally speaking, anything done without regular maintenance would be of lesser quality, so I've read. The only reason a lot of people don't grow it at their home is because it's a felony to cultivate, whereas possessing small amounts is just a $100 fine.

The thread hijacking is partly my fault. The three of us have turned a marijuana thread into talking about mountain climbing.

Hmmm. That reminds me of when Steve, Fern and I were downclimbing San Gorgonio with crampons on mixed snow and rock.

Fernando turns to me and says, "This is like walking in high heels! .... (awkward pause)...I mean, I guess! I'm just guessing!"

Well, Steve said he and Fern have issues...
