Bump and Grind

Postby Bivouac » Fri Mar 26, 2010 4:55 pm

Can i say that here? Actually, my wife talked me into doing the B n G with her (for the first time...(hike)) prior to "shopping" in Palm Desert...The B n G, to those who have never done it, is probably the daily social event in the Desert during these cool days. Someone seriously needs to do a video of all the 100's of fun and strange people (like us) who gather there throughout the day, starting with their Starbucks Lattes and scones.
Prior to heading back to PS i just had to drive by the trail head again . At least 30 or more different cars there all throughout the day it seems. BTW, I told each one of em to go do the c2c Saturday at 6 AM....(just checking to see if anyone read this)

PS...Oh yes, the trail....its about a 30 - 40 min unrelenting road for the most part...free of rattlesnakes for sure...and i saw some very well trained good uphill runners take it all the way up, as well as some unrelenting 300lb er's, quite a few movie star types in designer duds and a bazillion young and middle aged women . . .and a few guys. . .

Check it out on a down day...remember, "variety is the spice of life" someone once said i think...
Hike in the Alaska midnight sun, ascend 10K ft through Haleakala on Maui...email me at sidsprojects@yahoo.com

Come on Hal, you love this trail, all that perfume, glitter & such.

As bivouac mentioned, it does appear the social "hangout", but at least there enjoy the great outdoors, (sorry hal !!), and gettin some good exercise.
I've seen Bighorn above the trail, and know a few hammerheads like Steve & Doug M who train on it, (please get some designer Patagonia tights though, ok!), and a little cologne for the ladies.

Whoa! I thought it was just an old, boring trail! Now I'm interested. Can I find directions to this thing?

I'm up there 5-7 days a week. I can post a track if any one needs it, but the trail is pretty easy to stay on, there are a few different spots to start from but most people start behind target in palm desert.

Last time I did that thing sure wasn't around the Dinah Shore
Tournament that's for sure!!! Wiped my eyes and hoped to cry,
many more HAPPY, HAPPY Hikers on that Trail. Both the split tail
and non spilt tail types. DO NOT LEAVE THE TRAIL!!!! It reminds me
too much of San Onofre (sp) Trail 6 ((never cross the Camp Pendleton
fence)) Well, on second thought only if that's your kind of Hike.
Just remember, Bring Protection    , Lube
and a Big ol' So. California smile (for all the Out of Towners)! Oh Canada
comes to mind as I type. Time to get back up a mountain real quick
Felipe...... No, not Broke Back Mountain either :D
