Guadalupe Canyon and Falls

Postby halhiker » Fri Feb 26, 2010 4:10 pm

I went on a nice hike today in the Santa Rosa Mountains south of La Quinta. I went up Guadalupe Canyon to a couple of waterfalls and to some old plane wreckage. There are a couple trails in the area but they are not easy to find. Most of the travel is cross country. It's a great area with tons of places to explore. I can't wait to go back.

Nope. Just used the same old one but I'm looking at some. I just have to work on getting permission.

waterfall 'n' plane wreck

Postby msugarpants » Sun Mar 07, 2010 10:16 am

Hey Hal,

This waterfall appears to be the one at the end of the canyon adjacent to Boo Hoff trail. This plane wreck looks like it could be the rest of the plane I saw off the indian trail across from boo hoff. If, so, then that is the area I told you I plan on hitting up at a later time below the plane wreck. I heard lots of running water from above. Unfortunately, I do not know which canyon was which, so I cant say it was Guadalupe or not. Anyway, let some of us know when you are doing that area again! I would love to check out that area this spring, maybe follow some of those obscure trails. Great Pics, by the way. I guess oughta post a few at some point, other than on facebook.

To go with you I'll have to hit the Stair Master for a couple months. Let me see if I'm up to it.
