2 Alaskans doing Sea to Clouds, Maui 27 April...then Mnt biking down front side from summit for a great din din at Charles in Paia. Any takers? You won't read about this uphill route cause hardly anyone does it...This trail had been closed for a few years due to earthquake and my last adventure there required dealing with waist deep grass for a mile or two and then spending 3 hours in a very mysterious misty cool cloud before breaking out into the crater floor and sun. It required the same time for C2C as S2C approximately. 8:30 am to 4pm...biking downhill 33 miles in 55 min back to the beach.
Like SJ ... 10K vertical...unlike SJ, wild boar instead of snakes...ocean waiting at the bottom....and 70 - 80 degrees. Relatively steep trail for first 8 and last 2 miles with 8 light grade miles across the crater floor. There is no elevation loss in this hike.
We will be doing c 2 c here then jetting over for a S 2 C there. . .
