I assumed the parking lot at Humber Park would be clear when I drove up there this morning, but the parking lot was full of snow. The road is clear all the way to the parking lot though, so a couple of cars were parked along the road just before the parking lot. There is a closed sign on the road before you get to the parking area, but I parked in the snow in the parking lot and my truck didn't get towed away.
I went up the Devils Slide Trail to the Junction and then out to the ridge that goes to Tahquitz Peak. I've done the trek on the ridge to Tahquitz Peak before in the snow, but today when I got out on the ridge the conditions made me uncomfortable; so I turned back 0.10 mile from the summit of Tahquitz. It's getting icy out there, so don't leave the axe/crampons home when you head out into the snow. I could have left the snowshoes home because they only came in handy on one short section of the hike, but I would have been in trouble without the axe/crampons. Anyway, it was a beautiful day out there and it'll be even prettier if we get more snow this weekend. Some pics:
