It was nice meeting you folks Sunday. I'll need to get in better shape to foll!ow your route up Sid Davis! I followed the drainage toward Round Valley for a ways then traversed the ridge above it topping out at 9500' unable to ultimately reach those beautiful faces (the heart said yes, the knee said no).
Still I enjoyed some great turns and snow in the trees back down to Tamarack and down to the narrow point of Sid, at which point my knee was screaming.
As this was my first time skiing on SJ the focus required to pick my way through the narrow part of the Sid distracted me from making some mental notes on the best way to ascend/descend some of the narrowest points of the drainage in the future. Perhaps someone has got some tips?
Anyway, it's a beautiful wilderness and I'm sure to see you again.
I'm planning another go on Wed.
Anyone else?
Charlie
