Hello everyone I am new to the board but love reading all of your trip reports. I was wondering if anyone has been up the Toro Peak road recently and what the conditions are? Thanks

Haven't been on the road, but can tell you there is a decent amount of snow in the Santa Rosa's right now. I would guess a 4x4 is at least required, if its even accessible.

There's a locked gate across the road at the beginning.

Has there always been a locked gate or is this a seasonal thing, any idea when it is unlocked?

I think it's seasonal. I don't know how long it's been there but I saw it last weekend and it's the first time I'd ever noticed it.
