Anyone break trail today???

Postby calicokat » Sat Jan 23, 2010 7:40 pm

Thinking about going up tomorrow morning.....was wondering if anyone broke trail, if so, how far?

Is a summit attempt out of the question or will the deep snow prevent it

Thanks all :D

I didn't start out until abut 9:15 today, so those on the tram cars before me did a great job breaking trail to Tamarack Valley and on to the summit. It was a quick snowshoe to the summit for me along the beaten path.

Here's some pics:

Great pictures Kathy. Looks like I am going. Was there any need for crampons or all snowshoes

I just had snowshoes and hiking poles - they worked fine.

Great Shots

Those are great shots Kathy, thanks for sharing them.

Taking sister up ther tram just so she can see where I go play all the time, she has to be at conference at 3 PM in Long Beach so I'm limited on time and what we can do.

Looks like the wind was blowing pretty hard - great summit video.

Aaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

I miss living in SoCal. 4.9" of rain in Phoenix, AZ area just not the same as Mt. San Jacinto with lots-o-snow.

Jealous of you guys/gals.

Kathy, does the map photo depict the "Sid Davis" route and did you follow the same route back to the Mountain Station? - Thanks and great pictures.
