Mecca Hills trails

[Qadgop the Mercotan]

Can anyone point me towards some good trail information about the Mecca Hills area? I've read good things about that region, but haven't been able to discover any decent trail maps or similar info. I plan to be in that area next month.

To get to Ladder Canyon, from Mecca follow Box Canyon Road to Painted Canyon Road. Turn left and follow to the end. The canyon on the right leads to Ladder Canyon. Turn left into Ladder Canyon and follow the trail to the end and loop back into Painted Canyon.

The parking area for the Grottos is about five miles further up Box Canyon Road.

Thanks for the help! I do look forward to exploring the area next month! And the Palm Springs hike book looks great, too. As does the map of trains outside Indian Canyon.
