I would like to hike with you Hal if I can find someone to carpool with from San Bernadino. I have a car problem now. I know I should have bought a house in Palm Springs a long time ago. :)

Very nice article, Hal!

btw - I noticed your post on the Desert Sun's site a couple of weeks ago after a SAR rescue on Skyline. I chuckled at your suggestion that it's the "ignoramuses" who post uninformed comments who should be charged :)

You could still get a house out here. Prices are pretty good right now.

Actually, Cy, I think if you add up the gas you're going to buy driving back and forth to do your next 250 Skyline trips, you can easily make a house payment with the money you're going to save!

Hal, first of all, congratulations on achieving your goal. I really respect determination and follow-through. Secondly, was Snow Creek the longest one? If so, how cool that we got to see you (our official trail scout) as part of that adventure. Third, in the article you mentioned finding more and more trails...I'm out of trails here in the San G Wilderness. Can you come discover some more? Last, was there some inertia that made you want to get up January 1 and go on a hike, or was it sweet to sleep in and know that hikes are back to optional from now on?

Good job man.

Snow Creek was the longest. My Mount Langley hike took longer but that's because I spent time waiting for my friends.

I'd be happy to go and discover some new trails in San G but they're probably overgrown. One great thing about the desert is that Indian trails stay out here for hundreds of years. I'm sure there are many more I haven't found yet.

And it was easy to take a break. I needed a rest.
