It sounds like you guys had a great trip. We talked to you at your camp site in Round Valley on our way down on Monday. We did just done the left hand bit with the police helicopter too. It's good to find out that you had a good time and got to check out the summit. We saw in the paper yesterday that they rescued the three guys they were looking for. You were obviously much better prepared!

Nice report..
Yeah, we did the left hand thing to on Monday..but I thought they said raise both hands, so that is what I did..guess it was good enough cause they flew off..the snow was pretty hard, cool to see that you made it with snowshoes.

It's good you were able to get it done with just snowshoes. Perfect trip to me. Congratulations. I wish I had the faculty to try to do that when I was 15 :)

I really must thank those of you who went up before us! We would have been SOL if we didn't have those tracks to follow! :D And i am glad they found the hikers!

Sounds like you had a great trip! Glad you made it.
One suggestion I wanted to make for future trips is to find out about snow conditions beforehand (this site is a great resource). You were able to make it in snowshoes but the conditions were much more suitable for crampons and ice axe. Taking a fall while wearing snowshoes on that slope would seem really scary to me.
Cheers,
Vlad.

Ya, I should have, and we did try to glissade down the snow parts, but I did take about 100 foot unplanned glissade and got air off a icy rock. I was REALLY REALLY luky that I didn't get hurt. I am taking the snowtravel class from SMI next saturday so I will have crampon and ice axe training and will be able to use them properly.
