If doing it from Timberline Lodge ski area (the popular route), its a basic snow and ice climb (crampons and ice axe), with one bergshrund not too far from the top. If your there doing it solo, its pretty easy to find partners from Timberline, too. Start in the predawn hours as the snow gets sloppy after the sun rises. Also go early in the season (spring), since it'll turn into a 'bowling alley' (you're the pin!) later in summer.
