11/25/09 C2C2C report

Postby Jeff List » Wed Nov 25, 2009 6:44 pm

I did my second out-and-back C2C2C from the Museum to San Jacinto today in 10:33, 41 minutes faster than last year. Yahoo!

What a great day today! Nice and chilly the whole way up (starting at 3:50 am), but virtually no snow. It got a little warm near the bottom on the way back (for an unacclimated visitor from Massachusetts), but nothing serious.

There was lots of water stashed on the Skyline Trail part. I didn't need it, but it was nice to know it was there. Thanks to whoever carried it up!

And thanks to all the locals who do maintenance on the trail. Although it may be official unmaintained, it's obvious that work is still done. You are very lucky to have such a trail in your backyard!

Some cumulative elapsed times from today:
0:21 Picnic Tables
2:59 Flat Rock
4:17 Long Valley Ranger Station
6:05 Summit Mt. San Jacinto
7:27 LVRS
8:15 Flat Rock
10:33 Museum

That's some outstanding times Jeff, nice work.

Way to go Jeff, sounds like a good trip. Really wish I could have made it up there with you instead of the hell I was in today.

Wow Jeff, that was some sustained effort. Must have had that "You got to move it move" music playing in your head. Congratulations.
