I'm not sure what you mean about a "bailout". I'd be interested in going on this hike and seeing all of you, but doing up to 20 miles at the most, as I'm not sure I can comfortably complete 30 miles. Is something like this even possible?

Thanks!

Kathryn

There's a point where the PCT meets Black Mountain Road at the Fuller Ridge Trailhead. That's where I plan to be to help resupply anyone going all the way and pick up anyone not wanting to complete the entire hike. This spot is about 17-18 miles in. I'll know more when I do the hike on Tuesday.

Thanks Hal!

That length sounds perfect. If possible, I'd love to reserve a spot in your bailout/rescue! It's really cool of you to do this.

Howdy Hal :)

This is so generous, thank you for being our hiking sag wagon 8)

Thanks to Mark, I have the permits. Mark -- don't think this lets you off, you're still coming with us. Someone needs to chase off the rattlers and cougars

I was thinking a little earlier so no one gets stuck finishing after dark.

Maybe 3:00 or 3:30?

Sorry, z, I will be in Mountain View on Friday and probably won't make it back in time for the hike. Thank you, Hal, just the same, for your rescue wagon at Fuller Ridge as that where I had planned to stop.
