Greetings all,
i ran into this wonderful forum trying to locate some information on what the weather is going to be like tomorrow. Apparently using the weather info from the tram is about as foolish as my gut told me i'd be (averages of 60s-70s vs 40s).
I'll be heading up on one of the trams before 9am and bringing a friend. I'm packing 3L of water, a dozen neutra grain bars, flashlight, swiss army knife, iphone, sunscreen and dslr.... but I'm curious what you all would advise i wear (aside from a solid set of warn in hiking boots).
Will jeans be enough on the lower half or will i want to toss a thermal layer under? What about up top? undershirt, shirt, windbreaker - will that be enough? I tend to run hot but that link to the 7 day forcast for the peak is scaring the crap out of me right now and has me thinking of tossing a long thermal layer on top and bottom and bringing a north face snow jacket.
Looking forward to replies, thanks in advance!
Also this will be my first time hiking the trail in a decade or so, i've printed the USGS on 11x17 and am thinking that should be sufficient. We'll be taking the tram up and hiking from there.
Thanks!
