Snow Creek to tram -- who's on?

General Palm Springs area.

Rough time estimatation: Add your two back to back Skylines (not two C2C's) and that should reasonably approximate your time. If you want to be done before dark, you should definitely start early.

The length of the trail is going to string us our considerably. We might want to get to the starting point at the same time - otherwise, we'll probably never even see each other, and that would take away half the fun. Then, once we start, we'll go our own paces, and we may or may not end up at the top at the same time.

Just a thought. These things do present challenges outside of the physical requirements.

Anyone have a friend or family member who is willing to drive up and refresh everybody?

I would be interested in joining your outing. I missed "Double Double Day" because I was doing a triathlon. I postponed my earlier Skylines due to the warm weather. I was planning Skyline on 11/21 but I would like to know the details of the Snow Creek adventure.

Thanks

Okay, let's hear ideas for start times!

If you're planning on 2-3 miles per hour, starting at perhaps 3:00 a.m. should get you back by nightfall or very shortly thereafter. I don't mind starting that early to help everyone find the way on their first time.

There are a couple of tricky spots that might be hard to find in the dark. I'll bring a couple of light sticks and leave them behind as trail markers if the last person through will pick them up.

I don't have anyone who can run the supply/bailout point, but I'm hoping someone will do that.

Also, do we have a volunteer to pick up permits?

I may be able to do a bailout/resupply for the group. I could use the wife's minivan. IT holds 7 people. I'll know by tomorrow.

I'll try to remember to pick some up tomorrow. If I forget, I'll get them next week.

I talked to the wife and I can do the bailout/resupply for the Snow Creek adventure on the 21st. We'll figure out what time I should be there and I'll do my daily hike somewhere up there. I'll have a better idea what time would be good when I do this hike on Tuesday.

aaaaaannnnndddd we're in business!

Great job hal. Plus I'll get a chance to meet you in person. See you up there. I think you already know the area and how to get there, so this is a go.

Mark: Perfect. That'll be great for everyone.

Hal,

I'm not sure what you mean about a "bailout". I'd be interested in going on this hike and seeing all of you, but doing up to 20 miles at the most, as I'm not sure I can comfortably complete 30 miles. Is something like this even possible?

Thanks!

Kathryn
