Cactus Spring Water Report 11/9/09

Postby halhiker » Mon Nov 09, 2009 8:44 pm

Went out on the Cactus Spring Trail this morning to see how the water situation is and found it to be good.

There is water crossing the trail about a mile from the trailhead and water in Horse Thief Creek. It's not a lot of water but it is flowing.

Cactus Spring is its usual mud hole self with plenty of bees enjoying the water and lots of animal tracks.

I wished I could have gone to Agua Alta but I only had a few hours.

A full report with pictures on my blog.

Thanks Hal. Really am surprised to see that much water this year.

I need to make the trip over to La Quinta and do Boo Hoff to Sugarloaf this fall. I also want to fill in my personal map of the trails thoughout that whole area. Once the snow starts to cut off the upper sections of San Jacinto I'll stomping around over there.

Hope to see you on the trails.
