Up and Down

Postby jnefinn » Mon Sep 14, 2009 8:20 pm

I'm planning to do the C2C sometime during the end of October/beginning of November. Does everyone take the tram down or do some descend under their own power? I can't explain why but I don't want to take the tram down and very much prefer to get down on my own. How often is that done?

I'm not really thinking that I can summit and make it down on the same day. That's just too much mileage. So I'm thinking of camping at the top, summitting in the morning, then heading down that day. Any advice or pointers?
Thanks!

Sorry to be blunt, but I'd rather be waterboarded then tasered than hike down Skyline again.

I think it would be easier to hike down in the same day rather than carry a full pack up and down.

As an alternative, I like to hike up Skyline, run over to Humber Park in Idyllwild and mountain bike down on the dirt control road to the bottom of the mountain. It makes for a fun day. Up, over and down. I will be going again this fall -- October / November, if interested.

I will most definitely do an up and down hike of C2C once fall comes around.

there are some people that have done this, Rick Kent.
