Weekend hiking plans?

Bears at Onion Valley

Howdy Blooty :)

Have a wonderful time! Now that I'm cleaned up and rested, I'm ready to go back to the high Sierras.

We hiked out over Kersearge last Friday at the end of our 13 day backpacking trip over part of the JMT. Numerous cars had broken windows, etc. due to bears. It would be awful to return after a prolonged backpacking trip to find one's car in shambles  I had nothing visible on the inside of my car and nothing scented in my trunk.

I'm still waiting for pictures from my friends but will start working on my trip report.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen

I'm headed up to Mt. Waterman for an easy hike with a bunch of friends. This the "good bye to Jim's free time" hike since Michiko is only about 4 weeks away from her due date.

Yup. That's what I'm talkin' bout.

I worry every time I leave the car parked somewhere, even though it's clean inside. I was told not to even leave WATER in the car, by the way.

Exciting stuff for Hikin' Jim. Babies are precious.

Howdy All :)

Lance and I will be taking the first tram up tomorrow (Sunday) and doing Walt's 18 mile loop -- we'll go down at Wellman's and back up to San J via Little Round Valley. Hope to see some of you on the trail :-) It will also be fun to use my SPOT on a local trail.

Miles of smiles,
Ellen
