 I got tired of these velcro strips coming off my shoes. I tried several types of glue, and even tried to stitch them.
See if this works! Image

Yeah I used screws!
Yeah those velcro strips come off! I bet if you lightly pull on the other one it peals right off! I HATE it when they come off. I tried several types of glue and nothing holds. i'm really taking this personally now.
When you intend to step over a rock and your heel scrapes against it instead, it might not come off right away but yer gonna scrape it a lot during a hike so it's just a matter of time.
After I got home I discovered one of the screws was gone!
I don't know if anything will work but this is better than no screws. Must have come off near the end of my hike.
Maybe take them to a shoe repair store and have them stitched on! or welded. Or epoxied. wait I think I got it, duct tape!

Maybe this is a stupid question, but why do you have velcro on your shoes?

I gave up on the velcro for last year, but I thought the dirty girl stuff was cool. Using OR gaiters now.
