Yeah, i hope they don't harm him, that would be a real shame.

I like the Long Valley idea, he can hang out at the top of skyline and wait for us in the fall.

strange that this trail remains closed and at the same time people are dying on skyline and it remains open.

People die on all kinds of trails in every season of the year. I can't recall a trail being closed because someone died using it in adverse weather conditions.

Whether or not a small bear in a picnic area should cause a trial to be closed is an interesting debate subject. Closing the picnic area for a while makes some sense, but closing the trail seems unnecessary. There are always bears.

its about the same as closing down Skyline and leaving this trail open after three people got killed by a bear.

skyline isn't an actual maintained trail. from what I gathered, its a developed use trail.

who's going to ban people from a use trail?

Unless I'm wrong, the trail is not closed. They aren't issuing any permits but it is because the parking area and picnic area at the trail head are closed.

Is that right?

Nothing stops me from walking up Momyer and walking down Vivian Creek trail a ways and then turning around.

Or is the entire trail closed?
