Today I was at the Indio public library. I noticed in the reference section, under lot and key, there is the infamous Desert Magazine Index. Just in case anybody wanted to know.....

looks like i got me some research to do!

There are also digital copies of about 5 gigs floating around on the internet of the entire set of scanned magazine pages. Killer reference for all things obscure.

heres a good one Mike....The building that LG'S steakhouse is in in Palm Desert, was originally built in 1948 and was built as the offices and printing facilities for DESERT MAGAZINE. It was the first major building south of Hwy. 111

Although the magazine was first published and printed in El Centro for 11 years before that.

I remember visiting there when i was a kid with my grandmother. She subscribed to the magazine.
