On a side note:

A few of us had a brief conversation about who Fight On really is. We came to the conclusion (very quickly) that in real life, hiking with him would be like traveling with John Candy's character 'Del Griffiths' from the movie Planes, Trains, and Automobiles:

Plot summary for
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)
All that Neal Page (Steve Martin) wants to do is to get home for Thanksgiving. His flight has been cancelled due to bad weather, so he decides on other means of transport. As well as bad luck, Neal is blessed with the presence of Del Griffith (John Candy), shower curtain ring salesman and all-around blabbermouth, who is never short of advice, conversation, bad jokes, or company. And when he decides that he is going the same direction as Neal....
3 of the 5 voices in my head are telling me to "Go for it!"

bluerail wrote:nice pics...kinda weird it took you three times up to get some of them, but nice just the same. The Heeler reminded me of when Tina and I had gone up there a month or so ago, we were coming down on the stretch before the gate and somebody had givin up trying to talk their 400 pound, 1 foot tall bulldog to make it on his own down the road. The thing sat and absolutely would not move, the guy finally had to pick this thing up and carry it. Carrying a small elephant would have been easier.

Not a small elephant but this was not easy. :(
This dog would not go. She was finished hiking for the day!
I don't like walking down steep stuff w/o jamming my canes into the trail. so take away my sticks and add 60lbs? talk about pain!
I couldn't think of any way of carrying her so I just put both arms under her belly and tried to keep my hands high!
