Get together pics?

Postby Florian » Sat Jun 27, 2009 8:57 pm

I'm stuck in LA tonight. Really wish i could have made it to the hike today. Anyone have some pics to share from the party?

Many people took many pictures, so there should be postings soon. I may not be able to get mine uploaded until tomorrow.

The event was really great -- and well-attended.

Florian, I sure wish you'd made it!

Alan: Wow! You're already home! Eric must drive 100 mph! Well, he runs that fast, so I guess driving the same speed must feel natural...

Sorry, no pics yet. I am pooped. I don't think I have ever laughed harder or longer than I did today.

We had hoped the get together would last for a couple of hours...we didn't even get to my house for a little over two hours after we had thought we'd finish...Finally arriving, the festivities began, and we eventually finished just a little while ago, a bit after 9:00 p.m.

To sum up: We'll post pictures of trampoline antics back at my house, trail fun, and other excitement as soon as we can. Steve, the best photographer of the group, documented the trip while we were on trail, and he's much more reliable than me to post promptly.

Steve: Whatcha got?

In the meantime, thanks to all you crazy hikin' fools. It was more than fun, it was a wonderful time for me and my entire family. I look forward to seeing all of you again very soon.

Z-Man and Z-Family. Thank you so much for inviting and entertaining us at your beautiful home Saturday. It was a great day on the hill and getting to meet all of you and hearing of your adventures was inspiring. I could not have spent the day with a better group of folks. Thanks again everyone.

Oh wow! I guess hikers have a lot of stamina for things other than walking long distances! ;-)

I'll second that! Thanks for your hospitality zip, mrs zip and young ms z's!

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. The hike was beautiful, it's always fun to explore new areas; loved the mirror signaling demo from Yucaipa base camp; great meeting some of the guys for the first time after reading your posts for the past few years; happy not to have been arrested by that Sheriff while on designated driver duty in the bluerailmobile, with its 105 empty beer bottles rolling around the floor; appreciated all the food at base camp, especially Walt's contribution, which he told me could actually be improved upon; relieved that the images of z and bluerail bouncing around on the trampoline together didn't appear in my dreams last night!

Thanks once again z! Brilliant day!

Nice seeing some of the folks on this BB. Somewhat chaotic in the morning, but all the cats finally got herded together at the Limber Pine lookout. Extremely warm day on the trail, too. Great gig at the Zs' place; thanks for the hospitality.

It was a great day -- hike and post-hike party (parties -- we must count the tailgate one). My pictures petered out about the time we ran into Ellen and Dave. There were too many interesting conversations going on pretty much all day, and photos took a back seat for me eventually. Fortunately, other people were taking photos at any given moment.

It is probably worth trying to come up with a guest list.

Great pics Alan!

At long last, it appears Moe the chimp, lost a year now in the wilderness, has been spotted. Image 42 & 43 (Eric - you're my hero. I haven't been that far up in a tree in years. I'll join you up there on our next hike!)

On image 51 your timing was great. The mirror flash from my house is visible - just to the left of dead center in the picture.

Thanks for posting the pics (and for a ton of fun!). I'll try to get ours up today if I can.
