Perry, my best time on skyline was what you did the full c2c in, holly
sh$*, that is amazing.
when you and i actually go hiking together i have to admit, i am afraid i will be left in your dust. will you be able to slow it down a notch for me?
I also need to learn that patio walk from the top of skyline.
We will plan for a double (or in some peeps case triple) skyline same day turn around sometime in october, should be fun.
Who would all be in? i am taking early roll.
:)

I might be up for a triple, but I'd like to do a double first, so I'd think maybe a double in early October and then, if this old body doesn't break down, try a triple in early November. It would sure be a fun, everybody-come-out-and-play sort of event. Maybe a people doing few doubles, a few triples, everybody setting PR's ... if anybody is out with an injury or sick at the time, they could always PR with most beers consumed...!

Sounds like fun Tina. Keep this idea going!

It's the low point along the ridge where Skyline trail pops through.

24,000 feet is a lot of climbing! I feel satisfied with 5,000 to 10,000 feet.

Tina, you mean the Grubbs Notch to Grubbs View pop-over-the-fence-and-scare-the-tourists route? 8)

far n.e. corner of long valley....when your done going uphill from Coffmans and you can finally smile again. right before you clamber over the fence and into the bar from the overlook.

Thank you ever so much zip, for showing me how to avoid the worst part of skyline....that freakin sidewalk. to repay you I will gladly sit at grubbs and await your 3rd arrival with an ice chest full of what ever you lunatics desire.
I was impressing myself just thinking about a double. now with you and clarks brother talking about a triple, I feel worthless....I'll be under the porch.

btw....it is hot now, I got on the trail today and was sweating within 1 minute.

I'd like to try a full C2C from Palm Springs to the peak and back down to Palm Springs in the fall this year.

bluerail: I was kinda expectin' you to go with me...who wants to suffer alone?

But seriously, here you go:

Start at midnight.
Arrive at tram at 5:30 - 6:00, take a 2 hour nap.
Tram down and to trailhead 8:00 - 8:40.
Start at 8:40. Arrive at tram at 1:40.
Tram down and to trailhead 1:40 to 2:20
Start at 2:20. Arrive at tram 7:20 or so, anytime before closing.
Tram down and to bar, drink 1 beer, pass out.

Life is sweet. Yes?

kathyw: doesn't that downhill kill you? I'm just too wimpy for that.
