No, I'll have you pick me up. That sounds smarter.

Instead of hiking 52 miles of Silver Moccasin trail, you could drive 52 miles to Mt Baldy Village.

I'll let you know of the date I plan to do it the day before. Hopefully you won't have made any plans and have to cancel them.

I'll be hiking, but who needs a car shuttle when you can always ride high in the saddle! on your good ol buddy Juan's burrow back the way you came!

Nice work Ze! Cool to see someone finally doing this obscure route.

Hey, btw, I made an attempt at the SG Big 3 this past Sunday using my planned ridiculous loop starting from Heaton Flat and Rattlesnake Peak. Wimped out when I got to Vincent Gap and then had a bit of an adventure getting back. I think the loop I had planned might be closer to 50 miles. I could tell that it wasn't likely I'd be able to complete the loop in less than 24 hours. It was a bit rough from Rattlesnake to South Hawkins. From Heaton Flat to Vincent Gap via Rattlesnake, So Hawkins, & Baden-Powell took over 12 hours and was more draining than I expected.

lol, I thought you previously thought that big loop would be ridiculous! well good on you for trying!

did you hike back down the east fork from Vincent gap then? that's not a bad loop

in fact, another way to do the loop with the big 3 is hike up east fork, find a way to hike up Ross's south ridge and on to baden-powell, then down east ridge up and pine mt ridge, etc... down heaton flat.

let us know when you try that one :P
