San Jacinto Peak weather

We'll be doing our first ever San Jacinto climb via Devil's Slide next weekend (6/23/09). What's the weather up there? And any suggestions will be appreciated.

I rely on the NOAA forecasting website. Its more generic for the mountain and surrounding area, not centered on the tram.

I agree with phydeux. The NOAA site is best. You can click the +/- buttoms to zoom in/out, drag the map, click at different places/elevations in the map to get a localized forecast for the selected location, etc. I usually check the forecast for the summit as well as the starting location, be it Palm Springs or Idyllwild. You can save the URL for any given coordinates as a shortcut on your desktop. I have several NOAA weather URLs bookmarked, for Jacinto, Gorgonio, Whitney, etc.

No offense bro, but sometimes the Tram reports are WAY off the mark. Remember, they have a vested interest in people coming to ride the tram. They sometimes downplay the weather.

FWIW: I used the NOAA site to help plan last weekend's three night outing on San Jacinto. I was surprised at the accuracy of the NOAA site. Predicted lows for Strawberry Junction = low 40's, actual = 42; Little Round Valley forecast upper 30's, actual = 36; Round Valley = mid 40's, actual = 41. Our measurements were from a Kestrel.
