A special treat from Ellen!

Last Tuesday, Ellen presented an academic lecture to the medical staff of Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, titled:

Evaluating Popular Dietary Supplements

It was very well received, and I think is a presentation that any non-scientifically trained person would enjoy and get a lot out of.

I do think, though, that the real key to the success of the talk was the introduction she received.

Howdy Ken the Mountain Doc :)

Ah sucks, you're embarrasing me

Thanks for your kind words. I absolutely agree that the introduction was the highlight of the talk (Hint to forum members -- Ken did a terrific job introducing me and recounting my hiking misadventure and stay in the San Jacinto Bunkbed and Breakfast).

One of these days I swear I'm going to hike with a paper bag over my head. Shades of Saturday Night Live -- I'll be the "Unknown Hiker"

What a great talk! Really enjoyed it. So good to see some real info to counteract all the hype about supplements.

Beer's no supplement. It's the meal.

And it's not just for breakfast anymore.

Howdy All,

As a nutrition professional, I confirm both Hal's and Alan's statements about beer

Following Skyline yesterday (with Karin and Kathryn). Craig said he wouldn't let us board until we had visited the tram bar for my ritual post hike beer. Although it was 10 AM (yes, I have had beer at the tram bar that early), I wanted to give the bar tender a break this time  We also opened up Las Consuelas. The waitress saw us and immediately brought me a Negro Modello and wrote down my order. Wow, am I predictable or what
