Tuesday June 9th......C2C and Humidity

Postby calicokat » Mon Jun 08, 2009 5:15 am

Giving a thought to hiking the C2C on Tuesday. Based on weather.com, Palm Springs will be 67 degrees with 50% humidity. Am I going to enjoy this or am I going to be sweating alot more than usual?

Plan B is the San Gorgonio region, but the full moon and cooler than usual temps got me thinking C2C

Good Morning,

I went up for an hour this morning and it was cool but very wet. Seemed to sap the energy worse than normal. Seemed like I was letting go of a lot more sweat than normal.

Thank you for the info. I was afraid of that. Getting the cool temps is nice, but the humidity is probably going to scare me off.

I went up to Ontario and Bighorn Peaks instead. It was nice and cool and I got to see about a dozen Bighorn Sheep on the ridge leading up to Bighorn.

Is that 108% the humidity? I didn't think anything over 100% was possible and I've been to Georgia.

Oh wait. You probably meant 108ยบ.

Never mind.

Sorry - Yes - That should be degrees not percent (typo)
The Sierra Club has scheduled a c2c midnight moonlight hike on July 11th (Saturday) meeting at the museum 11.30 pm Friday night. Lets hope the Palm Springs low is below 85 degrees.
