I'm thinking a mix of running and hiking. The PCT would get boring if you walked the whole thing - it's very gently graded, taking 26 miles to do what you do on C2C in about 14 or 15. I know you do some running, so I think we could find a good mix.
Still, the 9 peaks is fun too. The biggest difference is that San J is getting too hot and maybe getting shut down, so it may not be available for a while. Makes me kinda want to get out there one last time.
Incidentally, what route are they doing for 9 peaks? Starting at Angelus Oaks? Vivian? Fish Creek? Are they going east or west?
The reason I ask is that I only did a short run this weekend, so if I don't want to start putting on weight, I need a long one next weekend.
The PCT from Snow Creek would be good, but I wouldn't mind doing 9 peaks as well. 9 peaks is a bit short, and easier than you might guess, but I (or we) could start early at one end, say Angelus Oaks, go up and across the ridge, and meet them on top of San Gorgonio, then come back with them as they hit each of the peaks. That's about 36 miles, but the last half would be with a group, so it would be a bit slower.
So, now that I've talked your ear off (or is it typed your eyes out?...ew...maybe not, that sounds grisly), what say you?
