Curious, if the Dow is booked as is the best western in Lone Pine where else would you suggest?
Cost is not the issue, looking for the very best.

Well, all the cool kids stay at the Whitney Portal Hostel It was built & is owned by Doug Thompson, the same guy that runs the Portal Store.

The Comfort Inn at the southern end of town is pretty good. It's the nicest of the various motels I have stayed at in Lone Pine. Its on the right just after you pass the turnoff for the visitor's center.
