i've done skyline 3 times--ready for the whole enchilada.

i'm thinking about a 4:00 start, but i'm somewhat flexible. i'd like to get to the tram in 6 hours or less, just because i can't mentally handle making it longer than a 12-hour hike. i know it's forecast to be a little warm next weekend, but it still seems reasonable (i've hiked it when it's worse). it should be fun!?

thanks, that could work.

i was mainly thinking sunday because the drive out from o.c. is easier on sat. plus, i could use an extra day to rest from bear canyon-baldy-3 t's this last saturday (still sore)!

i'll check in to rooms for friday night and try to decide in the next day or two.

Can someone clarify for me: Doing the Skyline means PS to Long Valley and C2C means PS to the peak? Does C2C assume hiking to peak and hiking all the way back to valley floor or would bagging peak then taking tram down still be a C2C?

Skyline = Palm Springs - Long Valley
C-2-C = Palm Springs - Peak - Tram

A (very) few people come down Skyline on their return, but I never will!

(btw - thanks for your effort in placing the water cache on Skyline. I think it's an excellent idea)

LOL, I think Mark said it best, but mostly i love getting home to take my naps after hiking.

After this past weekend doing san g. saturday and skyline monday i came to the conclusion that i love hard challenging hikes. there is such a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes with this that might be hard for some to understand. Doing C2C will be one of those and it is long over due.

When will i get to hike with you again Ze?
