A lot of nice pictures there. I'm glad to see the snow melting!

Wow, I can't believe how much snow is gone since my trip a couple of weeks ago. Looks like you were right about getting away with approach shoes. Great pictures as usual! I really could use some lessons from you! By the way, I was on the other side of the mountain while you were coming down! I passed on another C2C attempt due to high winds forecast and did the North face overnight trip I was talking about. I'll post a TR shortly.

Great Pictures Dave, gives me information on what's on the north side as well. Thinking of going up one of the chutes in the next two weeks now that the knee is feeling 99.9999999999 percent better :D, have one other hike planned but once that is out of the way, I'm on the backside of that mountain before the snow is gone.

Thanks as always for posting.

Thanks Patrick. I want to hit the north side too before it melts out. I'm pretty booked up for a while but give me a shout when you go just in case I can pull off a disappearing act 8) .

Thanks for the pics DaveG. One of your comments on the pics above High Creek sounded like you never did use crampons . . . was that all the way up to the summit? Also, were there any dicey sections between Halfway and High Creek?

I was being stubborn, Zip (just ask Norma  ). I would have moved a little faster (and been safer) had I used them. On the way down I did put them on for a short distance on the traverse--it hadn't softened up in the afternoon as much as I had anticipated it would. I just brought my lightweight aluminum ones for this and they were fine.

maybe not? different strokes for different folks. that's what keeps it all interesting. you had set a goal that i was not aware of. i was "concerned" when we lost you there for a while and relieved when we heard you were ahead.

it was a good hike, a tremendous workout and as always a great adventure! i too want to do the north face. my pix should be up a little later this evening.

z, there was nothing dicey between Halfway and High Creek.

As always, a day in the mountains is a Great Day in the mountains. A great workout, adventure and lots of laughs on San Gorgonio.
