Hello, I walked from the Tram to the Summit this last saturday.
The snow coverage begins at around Tamarck, (I did not go thru round valley)...but there was consistent coverage from 9k feet up to the summit. We used our crampons from 9k up to the summit, it helped. The snow is consolidated so no issues of postholing..in the afternoon - the snow started to soften up, so that may change with conditions. It would be helpful to have some sort of crampon shoe device (there was a guy with microspikes at the summit) - as it can get a bit slippery going up to the summit above 9k.
Good luck.
