Hiking from Baldy to San G

General Palm Springs area.

To tell you the truth, I'd like to climb a north face route on San G as part of the process, if still in condition, so I would carry an axe and crampons with me.

PCT San Jancinto

Z

I was not planning on being there anytime in the next four weeks but that could change if the challenge was something I wanted to do.

I set up water stashes in the Santa Ana mountains yesterday for a Ortega to 91 South to North Traverse that my friend Bryan and I want to tackle in two or three weeks. We are going to go stash some more on the south end next weekend to be ready, I already did the north end yesterday.

I might be willing to meet up at Whitewater and drive to Snow Creek to do the PCT south bound up to Fuller Ridge and the summit of San Jacinto in approximately four weeks.

Keep me posted on your plans, Norris you do the same and we can try to put something together. It would be nice to have someone in their car drive up to the campgrounds at 8,600 feet with the extra gear so that we do not have to lug tent's and sleeping bags 8,000 feet from the desert floor - there's a nice little campground (Drive up type) where Black Mountain Road crosses the PCT just below "Castle Rocks". The only question is - when will they open that road - can anyone tell us if that road is open?

I might be willing to meet at Fish Creek Trial head and do the summit of San Gorgonio from that side as well.

Keep me posted.

Thanks

Not to hijack too much; but that sounds interesting. What trails are you planning on? Or just Main Divide?
